The 3rd edition of the Tremblant Film Festival is in full force. This year's theatres are fuller than ever, and the films being screened do not disappoint.
Today, Saturday, June 21 is the day dedicated to the cinema of Mexico, and may outdoor events and concerts are being held. Mexican films will be screened througout the day.
Some celebrities spotted in the Tremblant resort this weekend are Emmanuelle Chriqui and Anne-Marie Cadieux, actresses and Jury members...Here are a few photos...

Almost sold out! Canadian Premiere of "Talk to Me" at Tremblant Film Festival

Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 4:30 pm, the Tremblant Film Festival audience will have the unique opportunity to see the film Talk to Me, a movie already generating Oscar buzz! Mark Lindsay from Kimmel Entertainmet and Mark Gordon, producer will attend the screening to present their film.

The Talk to Me World Premiere just opened the Los Angeles Film Festival and has already received outstanding reviews.

Academy Award nominee Don Cheadle portrays the one and only Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene Jr.; Petey's story is funny, dramatic, inspiring – and real. In the mid-to-late 1960s, in Washington, D.C., vibrant soul music and exploding social consciousness were combining to a unique and powerful effect. It was the place and time for Petey to fully express himself – sometimes to outrageous effect – and "tell it like it is." With the support of his irrepressible and tempestuous girlfriend Vernell (Taraji P. Henson), the newly minted ex-con talks his way into an on-air radio gig.

At the station, Petey becomes an iconic radio personality, surpassing even the established popularity of his fellow disc jockeys, Nighthawk and Sunny Jim. Combining biting humor with social commentary, Petey openly courts controversy for station owner E.G. Sonderling. Petey was determined to make not just himself but his community heard during an exciting and turbulent period in American history. As Petey's voice, humor, and spirit surge across the airwaves with the vitality of the era, listeners tune in to hear not only incredible music but also a man speaking directly to them about race and power in America like few people ever have. Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) is the L.A. and N.Y.-based production and finance company headed by veteran producer Sidney Kimmel. SKE recently financed, in association with Universal Pictures, Paul Greengrass’ United 93, as well as Billy Ray’s Breach.

Mark Gordon's producing credits include two hit television series, Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds, as well as Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, for which he received an Academy Award nomination in the Best Picture category; the blockbusters The Day After Tomorrow and The Patriot; and the smash Speed.

The Tremblant Film Festival becoming a showcase for talent!

Several events, parties and concerts are taking advantage of the Tremblant Film Festival’s growth to showcase their talent. The Festival already programs several high quality films from Europe and the Americas , many in their North American premieres.

Festival attendees include important film directors, stars, film producers and executives, making this unique 5 day event an ideal platform for talent showcase. New talent such as, Alfa Rococo, Clement Jacques, Andrea Lindsay and Dj Mana, Microtone Kitchen will be part of this rendez-vous in the Laurentians.

Le Big Night, a unique event featuring DJ’s of Microtone Kitchen will be held at the Lake Tremblant Private Beach and Tennis Club, Saturday, June 23rd starting at 11PM. A first of its kind in the region, the event is open to the public.

Update: Heather Graham is coming to festival

We've received news that Rosario Dawson has a scheduling conflict with her new film and unfortunately will not be able to attend this year's festival. However, we can now officially confirm that Heather Graham will be there next week to promote "Adrift in Manhattan"!!!

It looks like Rosario Dawson and Heather Graham will be coming to this year's festival to promote their films. Rosario stars in and produced the film "Descent", a film about a college student who gets raped and seeks revenge after her life is shattered.

Heather will be coming to promote a beautiful film "Adrift in Manhattan", which follows the lives of a few lonely New Yorkers.

I had a bit of spare time so I decided to search the web for Indie films and interesting organizations promoting the independent films and their production. I was surprised to find many cool sites from writer guilds; WGAW Independent Film Program helping independent screenwriters increase their status and influence within the indie film industry to general resource portals, where you can find anything on the subject: indieproducer.net. In addition I stumbled on an "URL" that gives you up to date news about the industry,indiewire.com.

This is just a small attempt to startup the conversation on indie films, if you have more information about the resources related to this topic, feel free to let me know...
